when i wasn’t looking

am disturbed. who are we to scoff, to judge, small as each attempt might be. yet i do, yet i understand not why the burning of a flag might help someone who is starving or alleviate another’s pain. tis a perpetual problem of mine, to lack patience, to not take small steps. a lesson i have yet to learn though i should have by now. what if it were blinding brightness that has petrified instead of a pitch dark. what if it were glinda and not elphaba who razed villages and terrorized and we see not the truth because of the colour of her skin. what if we’re all mistaken and a fatal error this may be to have embraced which leads to the ruination of humankind with no exit.

let it go. perhaps you will find answers you were not looking for.
